Democratization of influence. Jonestown online club. Putin, Trump, Tuicker Carlson, Rush Limbaugh, Elon Musk, etc cults of hate and mass dehumanization communications leading signals are not new. What is new is the democratization. authority in some ways helped huma ity, but now with these distributed cults of authority and our constant praisr of the hero who breaks free of tradition... this is where Campbell really breaks downfor me. Stephan Hollar describes Campbell as amoral libertarian, which we need, but terrorism and spreading pandemics isn't exactly what we need, is it? Ranting here: Pay it Forward film kind of movement. Greta and Malala having a botto-up movement didn't ake of 2013 to 2024.
what we fight for. communism vs capitalism is too simple, as population and resource issues - and toxicity issues of things we make - like climate change and spreading diseases through airports - aren't factored in very well. We tend t o fight for power, wealth, oil, land, map, eliminating races, eliminating others, domination. We need to fight for love, compassion, sharing, voluntary sharing. Whcih is a way harder goal, volunary goodness.
